Girls’ getaway, buddy-moon, friend-cation. Whatever you call it, we’ve picked out the ultimate destinations to suit your group’s vibe.

And according to recent research, it’s been proven that taking a trip with your girlfriends can improve your mental and physical health thanks to that feel-good hormone oxytocin.

Taking time to reconnect with friends helps us be happier, have fewer health problems and even live longer.

If that isn’t a good enough reason to dial up your gang and get packing, we don’t know what is.

Cherating Beach, Malaysia

Spend days soaking up vitamin D and dipping into the adults-only Zen pool with 360-degree views of where the jungle meets the sea in this eco-friendly resort.

Cancun Yucatan

An in-resort wine cellar and ancient Mayan wonders on tap, where do I sign up? Check out epic sights, or just enjoy brekkie in your bathrobe.

Bintan Island, Singapore

Get back your zen with this holistic wellness escape. Get active in CrossFit or indulge in a rejuvenating massage at the spa. Or what about beachfront yoga with your bestie? It’s a vibe!

Kani, Maldives

This turquoise playground is a must-visit for water babies.. Swim and snorkel by day directly from your overwater suite, then dance under the stars on a two-kilometre stretch of private beach.

A classic crowdpleaser, Club Med Bali is an oasis on the shores of Nusa Dua, with shopping, surfing, nightlife and culture just an arm’s reach away. Grab your floatie and dive in.

Still can’t decide?

Em Carey (Also known as the girl who fell from the sky in a terrible skydiving accident), has just returned from a trip with her gal pal and shares her top tips for planning the perfect escape with your mates.

‘When you’re looking for a location, pick somewhere that has something for everyone. Pools for relaxing, activities for the action-seekers, excursions for adventurers, after-dark atmosphere for the partiers, restaurants for the foodies.’

‘Save yourself time, hassle and $$$ and consider all-inclusive. Imagine leaving for your holiday knowing you’ll return with the same amount of money in your bank, you simply rock up, order cocktails, eat all the food, do all the things, and simply walk away at the end of your trip #thedream
Agree on a destination together and then divide and conquer the bookings – someone is on location, flights, transport to the airport.’

‘Don’t be scared to extend the invite to the partners in your life so you can sneak in that couple AND gal pal trip at the same time. This could be a good opportunity for your partners to bond and get to know each other or if you’re lucky enough, maybe they’re already friends!’
