If you haven’t met Under Armour’s latest sneaker, specifically designed and developed to help you reach (and exceed) your running goals – let us do the honour.
Under Armour’s new HOVR Phantom SE (Sports Editon) is the talk of the town and for good reason. It’s a new and improved version of its 2018 original, offering everything it takes for runners to go the extra mile, in total comfort. In fact, the shoe was coined the ‘phantom’ to represent the ‘ghost-like’ feeling of the shoe on the foot during endurance runs. And we’re convinced of this, tried and true!
Our Triple White editor put the hot topic runners through the paces – a full 15K of them.
‘Keen to push the shoe to its limits, I trialed everything from running up and down hills to jogging and sprinting across different terrain – gravel & grass included.’
WHAT. A. SHOE.
‘As a frequent runner, I struggle to find shoes that feel both comfortable for long distances and also support my feet the entire way.’
‘The minute I put on the shoe and felt its secure hold and cushioning around my foot, I felt completely confident.’
‘The first kilometer felt as comfortable as the last and the entire run was enjoyable – I could have gone longer, easily!’
The shoe’s latest update offers the same comfortable ride, with improved breathability for high-intensity interval training workouts. It also features a more anatomically shaped collar to better fit your foot during long runs.
Speaking of running, the shoe can be digitally connected to Under Armour’s longstanding running tracker app, Map My Run. How? The shoe has an embedded sensor in the midsole of the right foot that digitally connects seamlessly to the app via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
The shoe tracks, analyses and stores detailed running metrics to help you improve performance.
New to the app this year is the Gait Coaching feature, which can tell you fine-grain details about your stride and can help predict pace and plan for future runs. The best bit? You can join a fitness community of 245+ million people!
‘As a longtime user of Under Armour’s Map My Run app, taking me back to my early long distance running days in Boston back in 2013, I couldn’t be more stoked over the shoes ability to connect to the App, offering me even more detail and tracking metrics than I thought possible!’
‘I’m currently training for a marathon and it’s entirely fair to say I’m in safe hands with Under Armour’s new HOVR Phantoms and backed training wise by the elevated tracker connected to Map My Run.’
