This sophisticated little devil is the perfect pick-me-up to jolt you into party mode and keep you giggling all night. It’s a scrumptious mix of rich rum, strong coffee, sweet chocolate and smooth vanilla, finished off with a creamy cashew foam to create the picture-perfect coffee cocktail. It works perfectly as a party cocktail, or employed practically as a post-dinner digestif, due to the digestive boost from caffeine. Let’s get buzzed.
30mls espresso coffee
5mls vanilla essence
2 dash Angostura bitters
150mls cashew milk
Fill frothing pitcher 1/3 full with cashew milk (or nut milk alternative). Froth milk until foamy, set aside and proceed with making cocktail.
Pour a big shot of rum, a shot of espresso, rich date syrup, vanilla essence and Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10-12 seconds.
Strain cocktail into your favourite coffee cup filled with ice. Scoop a dollop of cashew froth on top and garnish with grated cinnamon stick, chocolate powder and a few coffee beans. Voila.
