The Stylerunner team share their favourite smoothie recipes

One word: YUM.

Smoothies are life, we say. Or rather, they are life-savers. Not so much in the literal sense, more in the ‘I-need-to-cram-in-all-these-nutrients-but-I’m-in-a-rush-oh-look-a-dog’ kind of way. A great way to boost your daily intake of veggies, proteins and good fats, smoothies make excellent on-the-go breakfasts. Of course, you probably know all this already, but what you may not know is that smoothies are pretty much standard in the Stylerunner office and some of our our team has shared (very excitedly, over the promise of smoothies) their favourite recipes! Read on to get to know our team and stock up on a fab recipe or two:


Brooke MacDonald – Customer Service Representative / In-house exercise scientist

Fave holiday destination: New York!
Current TV obsession: The Abstract Series on Netflix
Most used emoji: The “love heart eyes” emoji
Go-to workout: F45 Training or HIIT circuits

Brooke’s “PB Caramel Dream” Smoothie:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • A splash of almond milk
  • 1 scoop of Prana Salted Caramel Power Plant Protein
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp of LSA (Ground up linseed, sunflower seed and almonds)

I have a total sweet tooth so this kicks the cravings right in the butt! I normally make this as my dessert at night, because we always need something sweet after dinner, right? And it’s the consistency of ice-cream! This is also my go-to when I am rushing straight from the gym, to home, to work… Whenever I am rushing, basically! It’s easy, quick and tastes super naughty, but it’s all so good for you.


Julia Giampietro – Digital Content Manager / Nutritionist-to-be

Fave holiday destination: Greek Islands, Italy and Spain all have my heart.
Current TV obsession: POWER (don’t judge me).
Most used emoji: Just checked my phone – “crying laughing face” it is!
Go-to workout: Anything HIIT.

Julia’s “Nutrition Nerd” Smoothie:

  • Handful of baby spinach
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or matcha powder
  • Lots of ice

This smoothie is the ultimate all-rounder! It ticks all the right boxes and makes for a filling and satisfying brekkie option. It provides the perfect combo of greens, fibre, protein, healthy fats and low GI carbs – plus the sweetness and texture from the banana helps it go down a treat!


Sukriti Wahi – Digital Copywriter / Dog-crazy Samba dancer

Fave holiday destination: The Amalfi Coast & the Greek Islands – don’t make me choose!
Current TV obsession: Rewatching Sex and the City!
Most used emoji: The cheeky “monkey covering its eyes” emoji
Go-to workout: Samba dancing & circuit training

Sukriti’s “Cacao Kapow!” Smoothie:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder (option to replace 1 tbsp with choc protein powder)
  • 1 shot of espresso or instant coffee
  • 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

This is my go-to when I need a serious energy boost in the morning! It’s also great as a pre-workout smoothie, thanks to its supercharging but healthy mix of banana and coffee, paired with the muscle-loving magnesium of the cacao. Delish!

Yaz’s “Green and (not so) Mean” Smoothie:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 2 tsp rice malt syrup
  • 1 cup almond/soy milk
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla protein powder (optional)

I make this grab-and-go smoothie almost every morning – so much easier and faster than cooking a full breakfast! This smoothie contributes to both my daily fruit and veggie intake and the best thing about it is that you can hardly taste the greens!


Chantal Belaicha – Dispatch Assistant / Theatre enthusiast

Most used emoji: The “purple devil” emoji
Go-to workout: 7-minute ab workout

Chantal’s “Banana Choc Charge” smoothie:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 tsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup ice

This smoothie takes two minutes to whip up and keeps me full right up until lunch! It is packed with delicious bananas and superfoods to give me energy for the day and takes care of my sweet cravings – without all the artificial nasties!
